How to Crack an Interview: 10 Steps That Actually Work
By OMA TeamPublished
You crack an interview by preparing for the company, practicing your answers out loud, and showing clear examples of results. Confidence comes from preparation, not luck.
- Study the job description. Highlight required skills and match each with your own example.
- Research the company. Know its products, competitors, recent news and values.
- Prepare your introduction (see article 1).
- Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) for behavioral questions.
- Practice common questions aloud, ideally in mock interviews with AI or a friend.
- Prepare technical topics. Revise fundamentals and practice live problem solving.
- Prepare 3–5 questions to ask the interviewer. It shows genuine interest.
- Handle nerves. Slow down, pause before answering, and it's fine to say "let me think for a moment."
- Be honest. If you don't know something, explain how you would find out.
- Follow up. Send a thank-you email within 24 hours.
Where AI helps: Mock interviews with an AI that knows your CV and the job description are the fastest way to find weak answers before the real day.
